I got the boppy for breast feeding. A lot of mothers told me it was really helpful and while I can see that it would be I only used it once or twice while nursing. It was just a pain in the butt to be carrying another thing around during those first few weeks. That is just me though. I can see people loving this for nursing. However, if you are like me, don't despair if you have a boppy and are not using it. Don't throw it in a closet quite yet. There are SO MANY uses for this thing. I used it for a pillow several times and as an aid to prop baby up next to me when they had gas. Several of my friends used it for tummy time. These are all nice uses but I knew I had hit gold with this thing when it was time for baby to sit up on their own. My son would sit up very well but every now and then he would fall backwards. I placed this behind him and I never had to worry about him hitting his head. I could sit him up and drink some water, play with him and his toys, all the while not worrying about him falling all about.
You may not 'need' this, but it is a nice thing to have and and use for all sorts of purposes. It can be another set of hands. On your baby registry is a perfect way to get this pillow with out feeling guilty for dropping coin on something you may or may not use.

This product is one of my baby must haves. It makes breast feeding so much more comfortable and if I have to feed my baby out of the house without it I miss it terribly. Getting baby into position is easy and I have no arm strain because the pillow supports all her weight. I saw a reviewer that said you need another person there to fit it around you, that is frankly rediculous. Hold the baby cradled in one arm and use your other arm to position the pillow around your waist. It's not difficult and I've never needed assistance to get the pillow positioned just right.

I've also seen the other reviews about it not working for tall people ... I am 5'10'' and have a pretty long torso but have absolutely no trouble with it and do not need additional pillows underneath the boppy to get baby to the correct hight. I do have very large breasts though (G cup), so maybe smaller breasted women will need a bit of a boost under the pillow.

I use this for every feed day or night and my husband uses it when he gives her bottles. Neither of us will do without it. Great shower gift and the organic cotton slopcover is heavenly soft.

This is one of those few baby products we simply can't live without. I breastfed my son for 4 months and this helped prop him easily to eat while my hands were free, crucial for those first few weeks of round-the-clock feedings. But it has many other valuable uses. My son hated tummy time on the floor and his head was getting flat, so we laid him belly down in our laps on the boppy, which he loved. It was the only tummy time he had for the first 3 months. As he gets older we find more and more uses. We prop him up on it to drink his bottles now that he is holding them by himself. He has acid reflux and it helps to prop him in it after feedings to prevent spit up. Now that he is sitting, we spread it around him on the floor so that when he falls over he has a nice soft landing. This has been a lifesaver in many ways. It isn't just for breastfeeding mommies. It wraps around your stomach very easily and provides a comfortable place to lay baby down if they fall asleep in your arms. I love our boppy!!!

i bought this product because a friend of mine who got from another friend. Every time I take my daughter to her house she enjoys sleeping in her Boppy. That's why I decided to buy. It was a good deal in amazon. Unfortunately, every time I put my daughter to sleep on it, she cries. I believe her back is not well straight in this new cushion. I also notice that my friend's Boppy is old, so it is more comfortable for the back of my daughter. I recommend you to buy if you are really in a need. if not, is better get after your baby will be more firm with her neck and back.

This is probably the one item that I used EVERY single day- multiple times a day. It made nursing my daughter so easy- almost so easy that when I went somewhere and forgot it at home I almost didn't know what to do without it. After about 10 months it started getting a little flat- so i will probably have to use it as a neck pillow and buy a new one for the next baby. But that's ok- because it's comfortable as a neck pillow too!
